✦ Synopsis

The enological characteristics of different clones of Monastrell grapes have been studied. The wines obtained from different clones were subjected to chemical analyses, including the determination of organic acids, colour characteristics and mineral elements. Signi®cant differences were found among clones. To check if these analytical parameters could correctly classify the wine samples, multivariate statistical analysis was done. Cluster and principal component analysis classi®ed correctly samples belonging to the same clone.
