✦ Synopsis
Soliton amplification in fiber amplifiers has been analyzed ( using either a parabolic-gain profile as in the complex Ginzburg᎐Landau ) ( equation or a Lorentzian profile as in the set of Maxwell᎐Bloch ) equations . For multichannel soliton amplification in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, we present a new numerical method that takes into account the actual gain profile based on the experimental wa¨elength dependence of the transition cross sections.

the validity of PO models, and it is simple because it uses analytical expressions to approximate the diffraction terms. It is extremely suited to be combined with existing models based on an infinite layer structure assumption. The only parameters needed to implement our model are the amplitudes of
We present a theoretical analysis and experimental results for the most suitable configuration of pump power in a two-stage erbium-dopedfiber amplifier. The amplifiers are arranged in a copropagating pump scheme and use large signal input and modest pump power. Experimental results are in good agree
