✦ Synopsis

band is at 1GHz. The third harmonic signal is less than Ϫ30 dB and other higher harmonic signals upto 10 GHz are less than Ϫ15 dB.

4. Conclusions

An example of a highly compact microstrip branch-line coupler having high harmonic suppression, based on stopband characteristic of DGS sections, has been presented. Third harmonic suppression was more than 30 dB. The proposed structure is planar, without lumped elements, bonding wires, and via holes. Good agreement between simulated and measured results was obtained.

## Abstract A compact dual‐mode patch filter was designed and examined. Five pairs of slots and a pair of meander spurlines were applied to redirect the current flow on patch resonator, thus the resonance frequencies of the filter are reduced. Moreover, a computer‐aid design (CAD) method using radi
