β¦ Synopsis
In this paper, a variable-width meander-slot antenna fed by CPW is proposed for the use in miniaturized personal-communication devices. By optimizing the slot width of the antenna, we design a uniplanar antenna that is 8% to 12.3% of the size to a conventional rectangular microstrip patch antenna.

## Abstract In this paper, a compact coplanar waveguideβfed slot antenna that can operate over an octaveband (1.75β3.7 GHz) is presented. The novelty of this antenna is the wideband operation with the radial stub loading. The frontβtoβback ratio of the antenna with a back plate is better than 25dB
