โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

In this paper, a compact coplanar waveguideโ€fed slot antenna that can operate over an octaveband (1.75โ€“3.7 GHz) is presented. The novelty of this antenna is the wideband operation with the radial stub loading. The frontโ€toโ€back ratio of the antenna with a back plate is better than 25dB in Hโ€plane and better than 18 dB in Eโ€plane. The cross polarization level is around โˆ’20 dB over the band and the worst being at โˆ’15 dB. ยฉ 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A CPW-fed bow-tie slot antenna is presented. Experimental results show that the widest bandwidth can be adjusted by the slot width when the extended angle is zero, while the far field is in the broadside direction and the cross polarization is kept at a low leยจel. Adjusting the slot width in a slot antenna can determine the operating frequency bandwidth. In order to obtain a wider radiation beamwidth, a narrower slot width is needed. This paper uses a CPW tuning stub in the CPW-fed slot antenna to achieยจe this goal. แฎŠ 1998

## Abstract In this article, a novel CPWโ€fed broadband asymmetrical slot antenna is proposed. The prototype consists of an asymmetrical slot and a tuning stub. From experimental results, the measured impedance bandwidth of this antenna, defined by โˆ’10 dB return loss, can reach an operating bandwidt
