โœฆ Synopsis

Mouse Locus names: Zinc finger protein 29 and Zinc finger protein 46 Locus symbols: Zfp29 and Zfp46 Map position: Zfp29 maps to mouse Chromosome (Chr) 7: centromere-D7Nds5-26.7 (+6.2) cM-Zfp29-17 (_+5.2) cM-D7Mit40telomere. Zfp46 maps to mouse Chr 4 centromere-Dsil-9.8 (+4.2) cM-Zfp46-15.7 (_+5.1) cM-D4Nds l 6-telomere.

Method of mapping:

The genes were mapped by use of the EUCIB interspecific backcross [1]. For Zfp29, 20 mice from the backcross to C57BL/6 and 33 mice from the backcross to Mus spretus were typed (Fig. 1). For Zfp46, six mice from the backcross to C57BL/6 and 45 mice from the backcross to Mus spretus were typed (Fig. 1).

Two members of the human zinc finger Krtippel family, ZNF 12 (KOX 3) and ZNF 26 (KOX 20), have been localized by somatic cell hybrid analysis and in situ chromosomal hybridization. The presence of individual human zinc finger genes in mouse-human hybrid DNAs was correlated with the presence of speci
