β¦ Synopsis
Palladium(D) and platinum(II) halides with 3,6disubstituted-2,7dihydro-1,4,5thiadiazepine derivatives (L) form complexes of general formula, [MX,*L'] (L' = monohydrazone, VII). During the formation of these complexes, the thiadiazepine ring underwent hydrolytic cleavage at the carbonnitrogen double bond, the nitrogen of which is involved in coordination with the metal ions. These complexes have also been obtained from monohydrazones of 2,2"-thiodiacetophenones. These are diamagnetic and nonelectrolytes.
From their ir, n.m.r., electronic spectra, T.G.A., D.T.A., magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements, these complexes have been assigned a square planar structure.
