We have performed four probe transport measurements of the critical current in bulk samples of the high-Tc superconductors YBa2Cu307\_~ and DyBa2Cu3074. We found that over a range of temperatures the critical current varies linearly with (T c-T). This result indicates that these ceramics behave as a

✦ Synopsis
Optmal mmroscopy studies have been camed out to study the effect of twinning on the superconducting properties of bulk YBa2Cu307 ~ (1 2 3) using a range of samples which have been prepared under different condtttons of temperature and pressure m the authors' laboratories and elsewhere Although the preparation temperature influences both the mean gram s=ze and the mc=dence of twmmng, cr=tmal transport current density measurements made at 77 K on each sample are found to be uncorrelated wtth the mc=dence of twin boundanes m the samples The tmphcatmns of this finding are discussed
