✦ Synopsis
The critical current density and the irreversibility field for melt-powder-melt-growth (MPMG)-processed YBa2Cu307_ ~ samples are determined magnetically in fields parallel to the c axis. Both Jc and Bir r are depressed with increase of oxygen deficiency. Bir r is not depressed appreciably with decrease of the concentration of Y2BaCuOs precipitates in spite of a significant depression of Jc. A bump structure in the Jc(B) curve is observed and varies systematically with the oxygen deficiency. These results are compared to fluxpinning models.
