We have performed four probe transport measurements of the critical current in bulk samples of the high-Tc superconductors YBa2Cu307\_~ and DyBa2Cu3074. We found that over a range of temperatures the critical current varies linearly with (T c-T). This result indicates that these ceramics behave as a

The microwave surface impedance and critical current density of epitaxially grown YBa2Cu307\_~ films prepared by different techniques on MgO, SrTiO3, LaAIO 3 and NdGaO3 have been measured and the correlations between them are discussed. The critical current density and the irreversibility field for melt-powder-melt-growth (MPMG)-processed YBa2Cu307\_ ~ samples are determined magnetically in fields parallel to the c axis. Both Jc and Bir r are depressed with increase of oxygen deficiency. Bir r is not depressed appreciably with decr
