A procedure using a 2.5% acrylamide-0.5% agarose gel for slab or tube isoelectric focusing is described. This composite gel is durable and enables a rapid focusing of high-molecular-weight compounds.

## Abstract A new, simple procedure is described for the preparation gel matrix for preparativde isolelectic focusing (IEF). 0.5β1% Agarose of IEF grade is incorporated with 2.5% Sephadex Gβ200 Superfine (SF) and 3% Pharmalyte, yielding a uniform and rifid m atirx. No gel washing, swelling of degas
## Detection of soluble peroxidases by direct plant tissue isoelectric focusing Rectangular sections of leaves. vacuum-infiltrated with distilled water or aaueous v solutions of potassium chloride, were applied directly onto the surface of polyacrylamide gels followed by isoelectric focusing. Solu
