✦ Synopsis

Abstract

This article presents the performance of impedance improvement of miniature ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna on a printed circuit board (PCB). The proposed antenna has a reflection coefficient below −10 dB in the frequency range of 3.2–10.6 GHz. Most important of all, it simultaneously also has a very good impedance matching below −14 dB for the frequency range from 4.0 GHz to 10.6 GHz. Because of the performance of extra good impedance matching, it can be suitable to be utilized in different environments for the actual UWB applications to overcome the impedance variation. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
