## Abstract A small size end‐fire mode hybrid monopole/DR antenna is introduced and tested. The hybrid antenna combines an annular DRA and a quarter‐wave monopole antenna to perform ultrawideband response. The proposed technique is used to reduce the length of monopole antenna and improve the whole

✦ Synopsis
Compared with narrowband antennas, ultra-wideband antennas have particular characteristics which involve complementary and new ways to describe them. This article presents theoretical considerations and a methodology to characterize UWB antennas in the time/frequency domains from simulation and measurement using a vector network analyzer. In particular, the impact UWB antenna from the point of view of their filtering features is emphasized. Experimental considerations are developed from a specific UWB antenna. V

## Abstract In this article, a novel planar ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna array based on four identical UWB antenna elements for UWB applications is presented. The proposed antenna array yields an impedance bandwidth of 3.1–10.6 GHz with VSWR <2. Over the entire bandwidths, it has constant high gain
## Abstract This article presents the performance of impedance improvement of miniature ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna on a printed circuit board (PCB). The proposed antenna has a reflection coefficient below −10 dB in the frequency range of 3.2–10.6 GHz. Most important of all, it simultaneously also
## Abstract In this article, a novel CPW‐fed band‐notched UWB antenna is proposed. The prototype consists of planar multilateral disc monopole and ground plane. By inserting a symmetry rhombus‐shaped thin slot on the radiation element and square slots on the ground, the narrow frequency band notch
## Abstract New techniques are described for the FDTD analysis of radiating structures mounted on infinite planar dielectric substrates. These techniques are the near‐field‐to‐far‐field transform and the total‐field/scattered‐field boundary, or the plane‐wave injector. For demonstrating the use of
## Abstract In this paper, we experimentally investigate the time‐domain characteristics of the trapezoidal UWB antenna. The time‐domain behavior is measured by using a pulse generator and a digital‐storage oscilloscope as a function of the azimuth angle ϕ, the elevation angle θ, and the separation
