✦ Synopsis

The Isopenicillin N Synthase genes from Cephalosporium acremonium, Penicillium chrysogenum and Aspergillus nidulans have been expressed at high levels in Escherichia coli under control of the trc or lac promoters. The enzymes are produced in soluble form in contrast to previously reported expression in insoluble form under control of the npL promoter.
