β¦ Synopsis
The Hall coefficient, magnetoresistance and electrical resiativity of an extremely hard carbon, namely glassy carbon developed by the Tokai Electrode Mfg. Company, were investigated as function of heat-treatment temperature from loo0 to 3200Β°C at three ambient temperatures 20, 77 and 300Β°K. The relationships found show the extreme hardness and resistance to graphitization of this material, which even after high heat treatments (32OO"C), shows neither graphitic properties nor evidence of two carrier mechanism of conduction.
