β¦ Synopsis
The excited singlet-singlet absorption spectra of s-tetracyaobenzene (TCNB) complexes with toluene and benzene were observed. The spectra were obtnined using the re-absorption of the CT fluorescence by the fluorescent EDA complexes produced densely by means of the excitation with a giant pulse Iaser. The non-exponential decay characteristics, at the wavelengths of re-absorption, agreed quite well with theoretical expectations.

Excited singlet-singlet absorption spectra of aromatic charge-transfer complexes have been recorded using pulsed-laser excitation. The spectra (obtained for the tetracyanobenzene-toluene, tetracyanobenzene-benzene and pyromellitlcdianhydride-mesitylene systems) are practically identical with those o
