โœฆ Synopsis

A trnnsicnt absorption is observed in nnthraccne (A/-N, N-diethyianiline (D) sofutions in toiuene excited by the 3371k line of n nitrogen laser. The lifetime of the transient matches that of the fluorescence of the excited (DA) charge transfer complex. The absorption is assigned to a transition from the fluorescent CT state to a higher CT singlet of the complex. Excited singlet-singlet absorptions nre also observed fox the free anthracene and Zi, N-diethylani~jne molecules.

Excited singlet-singlet absorption spectra of aromatic charge-transfer complexes have been recorded using pulsed-laser excitation. The spectra (obtained for the tetracyanobenzene-toluene, tetracyanobenzene-benzene and pyromellitlcdianhydride-mesitylene systems) are practically identical with those o

The excited singlet-singlet absorption spectra of s-tetracyaobenzene (TCNB) complexes with toluene and benzene were observed. The spectra were obtnined using the re-absorption of the CT fluorescence by the fluorescent EDA complexes produced densely by means of the excitation with a giant pulse Iaser

## Abstract The electronic absorption spectrum of anthraceneโ€9,10โ€endoperoxide (APO) has been investigated by means of multiconfigurational multiโ€state second order perturbation theory on complete active space selfโ€consistent field wavefunctions (MSโ€CASPT2/CASSCF) and two single reference methods:

Changes in dielectric loss at microwave frequencies resulting from UV laser excitation of solutions of 4-N,N-dimethyfaminobsnzonitrile and some of its derivatives in cyclohexane and in lfl-dioxane have been studied. The changes are due to differences between the dipole moments of the sohste in the g
