The fluorescence intensity of pyrimidine-d, is found to he enhanced, as well as quenched, hy an external magnetic field. Quantum beats in the fluorescence decay are ohserved in a zero tield, and the field dependence ofthe heat frequencies is well correlated with the field dependence of the lluorescence intensity.
