โฆ Synopsis
Fluorescence polarization of pyrimidine in a supersonic jet has been examined in the absence of an external field with excitation at each of the rotational lines of the various vibronic absorption bands belonging to the S&i transitions. The internal magnetic field which depolarizes the fluorescence acts on the slow component of the fluorescence, but not on the fast component.
