Abstract
This Letter describes a U‐shaped aperture‐coupled U‐slot triangular patch antenna fed by microstrip feed line. Because a thick aperture substrate with a dual U‐slot patch radiator are used in the design, a high level of coupling to the feed line results. The measured bandwidth of approximately 84.9% (VSWR ≤ 2.0) and a gain of 6.5 dBi have been obtained. The experimental far‐field patterns are stable across the passband. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. However, it is noted that as the period length decreases (that is, (s ϩ w g )/ G decreases), f 0 depends less on the s/(s ϩ w g ) ratio. The dependence
a simple SSFIP antenna, has a broad bandwidth for both frequency bands, good radiation patterns and gains which make it a choice solution for indoor and mobile applications, and an excellent decoupling between input ports. Its very simple structure makes it a good candidate for industrial mass produ

## Abstract The compact designs of a shorted triangular patch antenna embedded with a V slot are proposed and studied. A broadband V‐slotted triangular patch antenna with one shorting wall is initially constructed as a reference. By inserting an additional shorting wall to this reference antenna, a
## Abstract In this paper, an ultra‐broadband patch antenna using a wedge‐shaped air dielectric substrate is introduced. By adjusting the angle α, the experimental ratio bandwidth of S~11~ ⩽ −10 dB reaches 8.8:1, covering frequencies from 3.05 to 26.87 GHz. The measured impedance locus and radiatio
