Abstract
This paper presents the experimental results of a single‐feed triangular folded planar inverted‐F antenna loaded with a V‐shaped slot. By placing the V‐shaped slot at different positions in an isosceles‐triangular microstrip patch, novel multiband and broadband operations of the proposed antenna can be achieved. Results show that an operating bandwidth of more than 30% is obtained when the slot is placed near the center of the triangular patch and a triple‐band operation is achieved when the slot is close to the edge of the triangular patch. Details of the proposed designs are described and typical experimental results are presented and discussed. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
