Abstract

This paper presents experimental demonstrations of a dual‐band planar inverted‐F antenna loaded with a U‐shaped slot. The physical parameters of the antenna, including shorted‐strip widths and ground‐plane dimensions, are studied in detail and their effects on the center frequencies and bandwidths of two operating bands are shown. The purpose of this paper is to achieve a compact dual‐band antenna for wireless local network applications. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
