✦ Synopsis


A new bis(pyridyl) compound, C 18 H 14 N 4 , was prepared by the reaction of phthalaldehyde and 2-aminopyridine in toluene. In the crystal structure,stacking interactions exist between two adjacent molecules.

Related literature

Two corresponding complexes with 5-methyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-ylamine (Akkurt et al., 2006) and aniline (Takahashi et al., 2005) instead of 2-aminopyridine have similar structures.
