In the title compound, C~10~H~8~BrN~3~, the dihedral angle between the pyridine ring planes is 6.10 (15)°. In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked by N—H...N hydrogen bonds, leading to chains.

The title compound, C 6 H 8 N 4 S, crystallizes as the thione tautomer, with intramolecular NÁ Á ÁH-N and SÁ Á ÁH-N hydrogen bonds, andstacking along the b axis. Intermolecular NÁ Á ÁH-N hydrogen bonds link the molecules into one-dimensional sheets stacked along the c axis.
