✦ Synopsis

Abstract

We present a dual longitudinal mode narrow linewidth, injection‐seeded, Q‐switched fiber ring laser. Deeply modulated pulses near 1.55 μm with a modulation frequency that can be tuned continuously from DC to a demonstrated 25 GHz have been achieved. High peak powers are attained through the use of a reduced‐stimulated Brillouin scattering single‐clad erbium doped fiber. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper reports on a Q-switched Er-doped fiber laser using the stress dependence of a wavelength of reflected light from fiber Bragg gratings. The laser cavity consists of a 0.5-m-long Er-doped fiber and two fiber gratings (FG) attached at both ends of the fiber. The pump laser is a 1.48 mm semic

## Abstract In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a tunable dual‐wavelength fiber laser by using an external injection‐seeding scheme with a Fabry–Perot laser diode. The wavelength tuning range of this tunable dual‐wavelength fiber laser is 12.6 nm, and the optical side‐mode suppression ratio (

A short wavelength band erbium-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser emitting simultaneously at 1488.9 and 1533.9 nm is demonstrated. The erbium-doped gain fiber has a depressed cladding to suppress emission at longer wavelengths. The shorter emitting wavelength is selected by a fiber Bragg grating (FBG), wh

## Abstract We report on a all‐fiber actively Q‐switched laser based on a Mach‐Zehnder interferometer (MZI). One of the arms of the MZI is bonded on a piezoelectric transducer (PZT). The path length difference between those two arms will change when a RF electric signal is applied drives the PZT, a

## Abstract A simple switchable dual‐wavelength Er‐doped fiber‐ring laser using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) written in high‐birefringence (HiBi) fibers is proposed. ## Abstract A coherent combining of two Q‐switched fiber lasers based on a multiarm resonator of interferometric configuration is demonstrated. The lasers share a same fiber grating ring mirror as a Q‐switch and generate a stable pulse series. Under a 23‐KHz pulse repetition, a 10‐mW average output
