Abstract
A coherent combining of two Q‐switched fiber lasers based on a multiarm resonator of interferometric configuration is demonstrated. The lasers share a same fiber grating ring mirror as a Q‐switch and generate a stable pulse series. Under a 23‐KHz pulse repetition, a 10‐mW average output power is obtained and the pulse peak power is 46 mW. The combining efficiency of the two fiber lasers reaches 90%. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
