Abstract
Tolueneβ^14^C~1~ produced by the thermal neutron irradiation of a mixture of benzene and 2βmethylpyrazine is not specifically labelled in the methyl group, ruling out simple hydrogen replacement in benzene by the recoiling carbonβ14 for at least some fraction of the radioactive toluene produced. Using a recently published degradation scheme, the distribution of radioactivity in the ring relative to the methyl group has now also been determined.

The fate of (14C)-2-ethylhexyl acrylate was studied in adult male Wistar rats given an intravenous (i.v.) or intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of 10 mg/kg (0.054 mmol/kg). The elimination of radioactivity from blood was bi-exponential, irrespective of the route of (14C)-2-EHA administration or the ag
Since the reactivity of carboplatin depends on the rate of removal of the 1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylate ligand, the time course of this dissociation has been determined in various tissue and body fluids using 14C-labelled carboplatin (cis-diammine[1,1-cyclobutane-1-14C-dicarboxylate]platinum II). A method is described which anables the specific radioactivity of W-labeled L + a-alanine in plasma to be determined. Plasma alanine concentration is determined spec~ophotometrically using alanine dehydrogenase. In a separate procedure, this enzyme is also used to convert '\*C labeled alanine and ad
A recoil labeling method for the production of prop~nol-2,3-~~Cl and other simple alcohols is described. In addition propanol-2,3-14C and 2-methyl propanol-3-14C were prepared by the irradiation of methanol solutions of ethylene-14C and propme-1 J4C, respectively, in "scavenger" concentration. This
