✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Ag 2 Cl 2 (C 26 H 30 B 10 P 2 ) 2 ]Á2CH 2 Cl 2 , was synthesized by the reaction of 1,2-bis(dipenylphosphino)-1,2dicarba-closo-dodecaborane with AgCl in ethanol. The diphosphino-closo-carborane ligand is coordinated in a bidentate manner to the Ag atom through the two P atoms. The coordination of the Ag atom is distorted tetrahedral, in which two vertices are formed by one chelating diphosphine ligand, and the other two are occupied by two bridging Cl atoms. The molecule is centrosymmetric.
