✦ Synopsis

The title complex, [Ir 2 (-Br) 2 (C 8 H 12 ) 2 ], displays a dinuclear structure with bridging Br atoms, generated by twofold symmetry. The coordination geometry around the Ir atom is pseudo-square-planar, involving two Br atoms and two 2 C C bonds. The Ir 2 (-Br) 2 core shows a bent geometry with a hinge angle of 101.58 (3) .

In the title complex, [RhCl(C~8~H~12~)(C~24~H~32~N~2~O~6~)], the Rh atom is coordinated by a Cl atom, one C atom of the tetrahydropyrimidine ring and the two double bonds of cyclooctadiene. Each of the tetrahydropyrimidine and cyclooctadiene rings is puckered.

The title compound, [RhCl(C~8~H~12~)(C~6~H~13~NO)], which is of interest from the point of view of catalysis, crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, which is the complete unit cell. Neither the Rh—Cl nor the Rh—N bond lengths deviate significantly from the corresponding
