✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [RhCl(C~8~H~12~)(C~6~H~13~NO)], which is of interest from the point of view of catalysis, crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, which is the complete unit cell. Neither the Rh—Cl nor the Rh—N bond lengths deviate significantly from the corresponding dimensions observed for closely related chloride–rhodium complexes in the literature. Individual molecules are interlinked through N—H...Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions.

In the title complex, [RhCl(C~8~H~12~)(C~24~H~32~N~2~O~6~)], the Rh atom is coordinated by a Cl atom, one C atom of the tetrahydropyrimidine ring and the two double bonds of cyclooctadiene. Each of the tetrahydropyrimidine and cyclooctadiene rings is puckered.
