Although chlorinated paraffins (CP) are produced in large amounts (300000 tonnes per year), little is known about their occurrence in the environment due to the lack of specific and sensitive analytical methods. The present paper describes the GC/MS analysis of different CP's using capillary gas chr

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
GCβMS with negative ion chemical ionization has been used to detect anabolic estrogens (diethylstilbestrol, dienestrol, hexestrol, and 17Ξ²β and 17Ξ±βestradiol) in bovine muscle tissue. After hydrolysis and extraction, purification by column chromatography, and derivatization, the detection limit for the estrogens is better than 0.1 ppb.

A gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method is described which uses negative ion chemical ionization (NCI) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) for the determination of eight anabolic steroids in human urine. Eight anabolic steroids were derivatized by heptafluorobutyric anhydride (HFBA),
