We describe the synthesis of a series of novel mono-and bis-intercalant crown ethers 1 and 2, having either a methidium or a psoralen function covalently attached to the macrocyclic ring with well-defined stereo chemistry.
Their binding efficiency to DNA duplex has been evaluated.
