✦ Synopsis

Three cyclic methyldopa analogs ( I I I a , 6, and c) were synthesized by hydrolysis of the appropriate spirohydantoins (V), which were obtained through the Bucherer synthesis. Amino acids ( I I I a and b ) and hydantoins (Va and c) were inactive against experimental tumors. The 5 hydantoins tested were devoid of anticonvulsant effect.
