Abstract
In this article, a novel method is presented to improve the coupling of dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) excited by a waveguide slot at the shorted end.A rectangular DRA is excited by a thick ground plane slot, which is fed by a capacitive waveguide junction (CWJ)βcoupled waveguide end. The objective of using a CWJ is to substantially increase the power coupling to the DRA. Measurements were carried out to verify the design, and a reasonable agreement between them is obtained. ## Abstract In this paper, a dielectric resonator antenna for dualβfrequency operation is proposed. The proposed antenna is excited by dual 50Ξ© microstriplines and printed in a single metal layer, and therefore is easily constructed. In this design, the operating frequency is mainly controlled by t
laser (EXFO FLS2600). The transmitted optical power is measured with a powermeter (HP 81532A), working in the 800 -1700-nm range. Both the optical source and detector are connected to a computer by GPIB links. By varying the wavelength of the tunable source laser and measuring the transmitted power,
## Abstract In this paper, the advantages of using Lβshaped microstrip feed to excite a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) by electromagnetic coupling are presented. This feeding technique enhances the bandwidth and gain of the antenna without affecting its size. The experimental result
A coaxial-fed hexagonal dielectric resonator antenna (HDRA) producing circular polarization is investigated experimentally. Circular polarization is achieved by exciting the orthogonal HE 11β¦ modes of the HDRA in phase quadrature. The return-loss, impedance, and radiation characteristics are studied
