The steam-distilled essential oil of Solidago virgaurea L. was investigated by GC, GCยฑMS and NMr spectroscopy. Sixty components were identiยฎed. The main constituents are a-pinene, myrcene, b-pinene, limonene, sabinene and germacrene-D.

The steam-distilled essential oil of Solidago grarninifolia (L.) Salisb. was investigated by GC, GC-MS and NMR spectroscopy. About eighty components were identified. The main constituents are sabinene (l8%), f3-pinene (lo?'") and P-phellandrcne (23%). Two new compounds, 3-0x0-p-menth-1-en-7-al and 8
The chemical compositions of essential oils of some Piper species were determined by capillary GC and capillary GCยฑMS. Elemol (11.5%) constituted the most abundant component of Piper nigrum leaf oil, b-Caryophyllene (13%) was the major constituent of P. attenuatum leaf oil, whereas b-cubebene (10%)
