## Abstract The 251 MHz ^1^H and the natural abundance 63.1 MHz ^13^C NMR spectra of 1,3‐dioxepane (1) and 4,4,7,7‐tetramethyl‐1,3‐dioxepane (2) have been investigated over the temperature range of 5 to βˆ’180 Β°C. ## Abstract The ^1^H n.m.r. spectrum of 3‐methyl‐2‐oxo‐1,4‐dioxepane was recorded at 300 and 60 MHz. The ring conformation was considered in terms of the spectral parameters and shown to be a twisted boat where the lactone grouping is approximately planar.
