✦ Synopsis

Zeiss MicroImaging has won the Life Science Industry Award 2007 for its systems used in cell biology. The company came in first among 28 other finalists in the "Cell Biology Instruments -Microscopy Based" category of the competition. Readers of the U.S. magazine "The Scientist" and participants in the "Science Advisory Board", the world's largest internet platform for scientists, were asked via the internet to evaluate their experience with scientific systems and select their preferred manufacturer by completing an electronic questionnaire. Here, consideration was given not only to practical aspects and outstanding properties of the product or complete solution, but also to the cost/benefit ratio. Over 3,000 users in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, administrators and academic institutions took part in the survey. The award-winners were selected in collaboration with BioInformatics, LLC, the leading market research institute in the life sciences.
