✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel compact internal quad‐band handset antenna for covering GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, and ISM2450 bands is presented. Details of the antenna are discussed along with measured and simulated results. The simulation is based on the FDTD method. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This article presents a compact multiband planar inverted‐F antenna design for mobile phone applications. The proposed antenna comprises dual twisted lines, a shorting strip and an L‐shaped coupling strip. The dual twisted lines are excited by the coupling strip to generate four resonan
A novel broadband double-cavity planar antenna with a wide operating bandwidth (about 25% with respect to the center frequency of 900 MHz) for mobile-phone application as an internal antenna is presented. The proposed planar antenna consists of a thin upper cavity (3-mm thick) and a relatively thick
## Abstract A compact antenna suitable for personal communication handsets is presented. The antenna consists of a rectangular patch with a shorting pin. A spur‐line filter was added to obtain a dual‐band operation. Details of the antenna design are discussed, along with simulated and measured resu
## Abstract A small printed antenna is proposed for dual‐band applications. The antenna is patterned on the front of an 0.8‐mm FR4 substrate to obtain a low‐frequency resonance and a stub is patterned on the back of the substrate to obtain a high‐frequency resonance. The antenna without ground plan
