✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A compact antenna suitable for personal communication handsets is presented. The antenna consists of a rectangular patch with a shorting pin. A spur‐line filter was added to obtain a dual‐band operation. Details of the antenna design are discussed, along with simulated and measured results. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. ## Abstract A novel compact triple‐band (GSM, DCS, and ISM) planar inverted‐F antenna is presented. A prototype was constructed and studied. The __S__~11~ parameters are measured and bandwidths of 3.4%, 10.3%, and 2.1% are obtained for the corresponding band, respectively. For practical application
