✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This paper presents design simulation, implementation, and measurement of a miniaturized GPS/K‐PCS dual‐band LTCC chip antenna for mobile communication handsets. The dimensions of the LTCC chip antenna is 9 × 15 × 1.2 mm. The meander‐type radiating patch for dual‐band operation is realized by using via holes with 0.3‐mm height to connect upper‐ and lower‐layer antennas. The lower meander‐type antenna is to be tuned to the lower frequency (GPS) band. The upper meander antenna has a via‐hole connection for the higher frequency (K‐PCS) band. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel quadrifilar spiral antenna is proposed for use in personal communications mobile terminals exploiting the “big low earth orbit” (big‐LEO) satellite system (uplink 1.61–1.63 GHz; downlink 2.48–2.5 GHz). Feeding of the antenna from the outer periphery is proposed, to avoid the com
## Abstract A novel low‐profile monopole mobile phone antenna capable of GSM and DCS dual‐band operations is proposed. The monopole antenna is easily constructed by folding a planar meandered patch into a rectangular‐tube‐like structure, and has a compact size of 9 × 9 × 34 mm^3^ for achieving 900‐
