β¦ Synopsis
The First Organobismuth Rings: (RBi) 3 and (RBi) 4 , R: (Me 3 Si) 2 CH.
-New organobismuth rings (II) and (III) are synthesized under careful exclusion of air as described. The equilibrium between them with predominantly red color of the three-membered ring (II) is shifted in favor of the black colored four membered ring (III), when the solution is cooled. -(BREUNIG, HANS

## Abstract The cyclobismuthanes R~__n__~Bi~__n__~, [R = 2β(Me~2~NCH~2~)C~6~H~4~; __n__ = 3 (1a), 4 (1b)] have been synthesised by reduction of RBiCl~2~ with Na in liquid NH~3~ or by reaction of R~2~BiCl with LiAlH~4~ in Et~2~O. The reaction of 1a/b with W(CO)~5~Β·THF afforded the bismuthinidene com
