The synthesis of two enantiopure pipecolic acid esters (VI) and (XIII) is reported. Key steps are the intramolecular addition of allyl silane on an iminium double bond, generated via reaction of chiral ฮฒ-amino alcohols (I) and (VII), with glyoxal (II).
