## Abstract We observed myoclonic movements of the fingers and wrists in two patients with a levodopa‐responsive parkinsonian syndrome most consistent with Parkinson's disease. These patients were studied with electrophysiological techniques. Brief (< 50 ms) myoclonic electromyographic discharges s

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A 64‐year‐old right‐handed woman's right hand and arm developed spontaneous jerks that eventually involved her trunk. As she had some features of parkinsonism, she was treated with carbidopa/levodopa and her myoclonus dramatically improved. The mechanism accounting for this improvement is unknown. © 2006 Movement Disorder Society

## Abstract To evaluate the ability of orally administered liquid levodopa/carbidopa (LD/CD) to stabilize plasma levodopa levels and reduce motor reponse fluctuations in Parkinson's disease, five patients received LD/CD hourly, as standard tablets or as an aqueous solution on two separate days in a
## Abstract We performed a 39‐week, randomized, double‐blind, multicenter study to compare the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of levodopa/carbidopa/entacapone (LCE, Stalevo) with levodopa/carbidopa (LC, Sinemet IR) in patients with early Parkinson's disease (PD). Four hundred twenty‐three patie
that an individual is less efficient at detoxifying MPTP and like compounds during first-pass metabolism, could leave a person at risk of toxicity. Slowly accumulating nigral damage would explain the tendency for the disease to increase in incidence with age, and differences in environmental dosage
## Abstract We compared clinical, pharmacokinetic, and quality‐of‐life measures in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) who were on standard carbidopa‐levodopa (Std‐L) and after conversion to sustained‐release carbidopa‐levodopa 50/200 (L‐CR). A total of 20 PD patients with motor fluctuations par
