β¦ Synopsis
Polycondensation of bisphenol-C and furfural has been carried out in the presence of basic and acidic catalysts under various reaction conditions. The rcsin samples have been characterized by i.r. and u.v. studies, measurement of solution viscosity, estimation of molecular weight by both vapour pressure osmometry and non-aqueous conductometric titration, and thermal study in air by TGA. The isothermal curing of selected resin samples using hexamine as curing agent has been studied by measuring the amount of extractable material as a function of time at selected temperatures.

## Abstract The curing kinetics of bisphenolβF epoxy resin (BPFER) and curing agent phthalic anhydride, with __N,N__βdimethylbenzylamine as an accelerator, were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Analysis of DSC data indicated autocatalytic behaviour in the first stages of the cure
