## Abstract A procedure for the facile preparation of labelled carboxylic acids from labelled α‐amino acids has been described. The reaction is attractive for the small scale synthesis of such compounds.

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The production of diethylstilbestrol monoglucuronide – (glucuronyl‐U‐^14^C) by incubation of uridine diphospho‐D‐ glucuronic acid‐U‐^14^C with diethylstilbestrol in the presence of guinea pig liver microsomes is described. The specific activity of the product was 9.1 mCi/mmole and the overall radiochemical yield was 13%, based on UDPGA – (glucuronyl‐U‐^14^C).

## Abstract A novel five‐step synthesis of 3,3′‐ dichlorobenzidine‐(phenyl‐U^14^C) dihydrochloride is described. The method consists of the preparation of benzidine‐(phenyl‐U‐^14^C) followed by acetylation, chlorination with N‐chlorosuccinimide (NCS), and hydrolysis. The specific activity of the pr
A method for the preparative isolation of [U-14C]solanesol from 14C02-chamber grown tobacco is described. Freeze-dried tobacco leaves were Soxhlet extracted with methylene chloride. Fractionation o f the extract by silica gel chromatography yielded crude solanesol. ## Subsequent purification by no
This paper describes the synthesis of GDP-[U-Wlmannose from [W4C]sucrose using invertase and a crude yeast preparation supplemented with hexokinase. The radiochemical yield of GDP-[U-14C]mannose is 20-30%; 95% of the label in the isolated product is GDP-['\*C]mannose.
