Synthesis and Conformation of the Hexahydro‐isoquino[2,1‐b][2]benzazepines

The synthesis of Hexahydro‐isoquino[2,1‐b][2]benzazepines 6a–c in a three‐step reaction is reported; their conformation is investigated by spectroscopic methods, X‐ray analysis and dehydrogenation with mercury(II) acetate.
