β¦ Synopsis
Kinetic data are presented which reveal haloalkylphosphines undergo anchimerically-assisted cyclization with the ring-size preference 5 > 6 > 3 > 4. Also, phenylthio and diphenylphosphino groups are shown to have similar intramolecular nucleophilicities.

## Abstract The occurrence of anchimeric assistance in the vaporβphase thermolysis of __anti__β and __syn__β7βacetoxyβ7βmethylnorbornene and 7βacetoxyβ7βmethylnorborane has been investigated. The relative rates of thermolysis were found to be 1.9, 0.87, and 1.0, respectively. The nature of the tran
