This work applies spectral-domain analysis (SDA) to study the modal spectrum of open laterally-shielded microstrip lines. Although some thorough studies have been carried out (periodic phased leaky-wave antennas), only odd modes have been considered. The original contribution of this paper deals wit

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this article, the analysis of the characteristics of open planar microstrip by using the method of lines (MOL) is given as the limit case of open cylindrical substrate microstrip lines. Numerical examples of both cylindrical substrate and open planar microstrips are presented. The results are in good agreement with those in the literature; this fact supports the validity of this method. Β© 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

The dynamic analysis of discontinuities in printed circuits has been performed using the mode matching technique. This study concerns the open end of microstrip lines and suspended microstrip lines. The fields on either side of the discontinuity are described by means of the continuous (radiated and
## Abstract In this paper, the method of lines (MoLs), which has been proved to be very efficient for calculating the characteristics of oneβdimensional and twoβdimensional planar microwave structures, is extended to nonequidistant discretization with pseudospectral technique. This pseudospectral M
## Abstract Many different procedures have been proposed for the finite element analysis of dielectricβloaded waveguiding structures. However, most of these approaches are unreliable because of the appearance of spurious modes. Mixedβorder covariant projection finite elements have been shown to eli
