The properties of a microstrip-slot coupled line on uniaxial anisotropic substrates are analyzed using the full-waยจe modal analysis method. The computational method presented in this paper is general in nature, and can be applied to unilateral finline structures and suspended substrate lines by chan

โฆ Synopsis
An analysis of the higher-order modes in open microstrip lines is presented based on the finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) electromagnetic simulation in conjunction with the joint time-frequencyprocessing of the resulting data. The wauelet transform is applied to the simulation data to distinguish the uarious higher-order modes in the joint time-frequency plane. Then, a technique that extracts the field information at a unique time-frequencypoint is used to constmct the spatialfield distribution of each mode.
