β¦ Synopsis
This work applies spectral-domain analysis (SDA) to study the modal spectrum of open laterally-shielded microstrip lines. Although some thorough studies have been carried out (periodic phased leaky-wave antennas), only odd modes have been considered. The original contribution of this paper deals with the situation arising when even modes (such as the fundamental quasi-TEM mode) are accounted for.
